Ag-Climate Tools
Description
The Midwestern Regional Climate Center site features the following decision support tools. Some of these were developed by the Useful to Usable (U2U) project.
- AgClimate Viewer—A convenient way to access customized historical climate and crop yield data for the U.S. Corn Belt.
- Corn GDD—Track real-time and historical growing degree day (GDD) accumulations, assess spring and fall frost risk, and guide decisions related to planting, harvest, and seed selection.
- Sorghum GDD—Track real-time and historical GDD accumulations tailored to the unique development of sorghum plants
- Corn Split N—Determine the feasibility and profitability of using post-planting nitrogen application for corn production.
- Irrigation Investment Tool—explore the potential profitability of installing irrigation equipment at user-selected locations across the Corn Belt
- Soil Temperature Climatology—historical soil temperature statistics for the north-central United States can help producers determine climatological dates when soils reach certain temperature thresholds.
