Soak Up the Rain

This public outreach campaign offers information on using green infrastructure to manage stormwater runoff. The campaign encourages action by citizens, municipalities, and local organizations to reduce polluted runoff.

The campaign promotes installations of rain barrels, downspout redirection, rain gardens, tree planting, permeable surfaces, and green roofs that can help reduce runoff. These practices promote a range of co-benefits such as reducing water pollution and flooding, increasing groundwater recharge, cooling urban heat islands, and beautifying neighborhoods.
