Southeast Regional Partnership for Planning and Sustainability (SERPPAS)
Description
Environmental and natural resource officials from the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi, along with personnel at the Department of Defense and other federal agencies collaborate as participants in the Southeast Regional Partnership for Planning and Sustainability (SERPPAS).
The Partnership promotes collaboration to improve resource use decisions such as preventing encroachment around military lands. Working together, the groups encourages compatible resource-use decisions, and improves coordination among regions, states, communities, and military services.
The group's focus areas include:
- Sentinel Landscapes in the Southeast
- Threatened, Endangered, and At-Risk Species
- Southeast Prescribed Fire Initiative
- Energy Development and Siting
- Coastal Resilience and Regional Adaptation
